With women's rugby on the rise throughout the world it is no surprise that interest in the upcoming Asian Women's Rugby 7's Championships would be great.

The original ten team tournament has been expanded to 12 teams with several countries missing out on entry so a new team like Rugby India Women is very fortunate to be included for the first time.

India, in what will be its International debut, will face tough opposition from the vastly more experienced international women's teams from around Asia. Although the expectation of a top placed finish is a dream Rugby India is hoping our entry to the International scene will be a another step to developing the womens game further in India and if the numbers of teams wanting to participate in Indias first Women's National Championships is anything to go by, the womens game in India will become an international force in no time at all.

The teams for the Asian Womens's 7's Championships are Arabian Gulf, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Uzbekistan
