Rugby India would like to thank the Melrose RFC – the President Mr.
Reed, the Organizing Committee, the families that looked after the boys during our stay, the ladies that cooked the delicious meals & all the people who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, to make the Sevens a huge success. The Team would also like to acknowledge their liaison Roddy for being just awesome – who went out of his way to make us feel comfortable & at home!!!
Besides the Sevens, the team underwent a training stint in Bradford, England organized by Mr. Ikram Butt and the British Asian Rugby Association (BARA). The sessions were conducted by Rugby Legend Henry Paul and RFU Yorkshire RDM Hamish Pratt and his team.
A special mention for the main sponsors of the tour Stradbrokes Solicitors along with the Malik Group (shout out to Junaid & Jerry Malik), Mr. Ronnie Todd & the Bradford College (for their facilities) and Lahore Cafe (for their scrumptious food).
Whilst on tour, the team also reached out to the local community with a visit to a local Gurudwara in addition to interaction and coaching with the kids of Parkinson Lane Primary School.
